In Book TWO, Hugo endures the dreaded real-life incident that inspired the HTRP book series: He ALMOST ate a fatally toxic substance, Xylitol, in a piece of gum he stole. In Book TWO, the scene is fun and light, but the message is clear: PLEASE, PLEASE, NEVER LET YOUR DOGS EAT GUM OR ANYTHING WITH XYLITOL OR BIRCH SUGAR-- Read more about Xylitol here! . Read more about Birch Sugar here!
ALSO in BOOK TWO, Hugo meets new characters, stray animals that need homes. A second goal of the HTRP series is to help homeless animals any way we can! Ultimately, we'd love to donate more than we currently are able to do for our favorite rescues and shelters, SO we always dedicate a portion of all proceeds to donating!
